After living in Wiltshire for over 20 years we moved north and bought Bridgefoot Guest House in May 2011.  We fell totally in love with the house and location.

Bridgefoot House is a welcoming and charming Guest House, situated by the trout stream next to the famous thatched cottage in the pretty North York Moors National Park village of Thornton-le-Dale.

This classic 17th Century Country House with its distinctive upper bay window, is next to the famous Beck Isle Cottage, which is one of the most photographed cottages in the UK and often featured on jigsaws, chocolate boxes and calendars.

The house dates back to the 17th century when it was built for the school master at the grammar school set up by Lady Lumley. The wonderful balcony window was put in place in 1901 and is a familiar land mark in the village. Bridgefoot House still retains the features and charm of its long history.

You can be sure of a very warm welcome here in Yorkshire! As resident owners of Bridgefoot House we will be doing all we can to make your visit a pleasant experience.

We offer comfortable non smoking accommodation to visitors to this area of outstanding natural beauty.

After a good night’s sleep, you can enjoy your chosen Yorkshire breakfast in our elegant dining room overlooking the garden, before embarking on your day’s activities.
